ACE is a manifestation of Tyler's most deprived thoughts and feelings. ACE is an alter, and acts independently of Tyler's wants and needs; and because of that routinely fantasies and commits obscene crimes.

ACE'S first appearance is in Bastard, during Dr. TC's and Tyler's sessions. Tyler repeatedly refers to himself as ACE, the creator. Only to follow up that claim by saying him and ACE are a duo. Saying the two routinely fantasize about stalking, killing, and eating their shared love interests.
One of ACE's fantasies is in the song "SARAH", where he imagines kidnapping his crush Sarah after being rejected. Afterwards he imagines keeping her in his basement, before dismembering her and eating her body. Ending his daydream with committing suicide before the cops can arrest him.
In Tyler and Dr. TC's final session, Tyler goes on yet another rant against his Father; but starts seeing his accomplishments in spite of his Father. Instead of being burdened by his Father's abandonment, Tyler decides he abandon his Father the same way. Freeing himself of the pain.
With Tyler's confrontation and deciding to move past his abandonment, ACE and his depraved thoughts as an outlet is no longer needed. Tyler decides he is better than what ACE is, and so kills the bastard side of him off.

- ACE continues to be referenced by name in Tyler's later works, with the name being used interchangeably with Tyler.

- "SARAH" would originally continue into "ROTTEN SARAH", having both Tyler and Sarah be together forever in death.
- "SORRY NOT SORRY" is the first instance where Ace does not have his hood on.
