Dr. TC, full name Tyler's Conscience/Tron Cat is an unregistered therapist, camp counselor, and auditory hallucination. Throughout Tyler, The Creator's first three projects, Dr TC acts as a guiding presence for the troubled Tyler; counseling him through the course of at least three days.
Biography[]
BASTARD:[]
After misbehaving in class, Tyler is sent to Dr. TC's office. Dr. TC introduces himself before telling Tyler they'll be having three sessions over the course of three days. Tyler eventually spills to Dr. TC about his issues, partially the resentment towards his absent Father. Despite Dr. TC's attempts to console Tyler, Tyler continues projecting his frustrations. Dr TC. then asks Tyler if his father were in front of him, what would he say?
After Tyler again expresses his distain, the two strike up a conversation about Tyler's crush. As Tyler continues talking, Dr. TC struggles with a diagnosis due to Tyler's increasingly disturbing behavior. Such as a desire for cannibalism and murder, particularly for said crush.
Despite this, Dr. TC ends their session by saying Tyler is a good kid; just misguided. Dr. TC asks if there is anything Tyler wants to say before they leave, spouting another convoluted rant against his father. However, Tyler is able to make sense of his emotions, deciding to abandon Father the same way. With this, Tyler is able to kill off the "Bastard" side of him fueled by his anger, freeing him from the burden of Ace.
WOLF:[]
While Tyler has made strides in his mental health, Dr. TC decides to send him the Summer Camp/Mental Health Facility Camp Flognaw; of where Dr. TC works. After Tyler's (who starts going after the name Wolf Haley) arrival, Dr. TC instructs a fellow attendee Sam to show Tyler around the camp.
Dr. TC checks up on the pair a few hours later, struggling to communicate to the hostile and asocial Sam. Despite it, Dr. TC tries his best to be a good influence on Sam, staying by his side despite his resistance.
Afterwards, Dr. TC presumably stays within his office for the remainder of "WOLF". Entirely unaware of the drug dealing, gang wars, murder attempts, successful murders, and disappearance of a now psychotic Sam.
After Tyler is caught masturbating in the boy's cabin, he is taken to Dr. TC's office. Dr. TC and Tyler discuss the passing of Tyler's grandmother, and how lonely and lost it made Tyler feel. After Dr. TC consoles Tyler, he asks him if he knows where Sam was; Tyler doesn't know. Tyler ends "Lone" by saying "Nah, but if I seen that...I woulda killed him."
GOBLIN:[]
Dr. TC opens the album by telling Tyler "You wouldn't do that Tyler, kill yourself or anyone." Their session continues, as Dr. TC repeatedly tries to stabilize Tyler's view of himself, while Tyler continues to relapse into his early behaviors. Dr. TC tries to boost Tyler's feigning self-confidence, as well guide him towards better behaviors.
The session seemingly continues as the two return to school, with Tyler's loneliness becoming increasingly obvious; to the point Dr. TC seems to be the only one by his side. As their sessions continue and Tyler's behavior continues to get more demented, Dr. TC grows increasingly frustrated; and even thinks of quitting on Tyler. Despite this Dr. TC continues their sessions together, watching as Tyler sinks more into his "Goblin" persona.
In one of their later talks, Tyler confesses to hearing a voice in his head named "Tron Cat". Who is the source of the demented thoughts and urges, despite Tyler not wanting to do so. As Tyler expresses the things Tron Cat tells him to do, Dr. TC is horrified; and quickly changes the subject.
While Tyler is temporarily distracted talking about his crushes and fantasies, Tron Cat continues nagging at him. Eventually Tyler breaks in between sessions, murdering Jasper and Taco despite not wanting to. Something Dr. TC doesn't find out about, but he still notices Tyler is nearing his wits end.
Dr. TC arranges an intervention for Tyler with his friends, commenting how he was unable to find Jasper or Taco. However, Tyler ends up breaking down during the intervention and shoots his friends. Tyler repeatedly apologizes to the dead bodies, unable to make any sense of his distorted mind; questioning what is wrong with himself. Dr. TC comforts Tyler, telling Tyler everything will be okay; and that he is Tyler's friend still despite what he's done.
In their final session, Dr. TC deems Tyler as "fucked up" and asks Tyler for any final words. Tyler is still trapped in a breakdown, as he begins losing control of his emotions. Dr. TC tries to stabilize Tyler, repeatedly telling Tyler that he is here for him. Despite it, Tyler only sinks further into turmoil, unable to grasp the insanity of his mind. Dr. TC calls in security, who forcibly contain Tyler and give him injections. Tyler tries to resist, screaming about how no one cared for him.
Dr. TC tells him yet again he cared for him, and despite everything that Tyler isn't going crazy. Dr. TC calls himself Tyler's friend, the same way Ace, Wolf, Sam, Sarah, Salem and Tron Cat are. In the same way Tron Cat is a fractured part of Tyler's mind, his worst thoughts manifested into a voice; Dr. TC is the mirrored version. Dr. TC is Tyler's dwindling Conscious, desperately trying to keep him sane in the madness of his own mind.
But like all his friends, voices, and personas they're all fake; just figments of Tyler's imagination.
Around Tyler his sight of the world vanishes, along with Dr. TC; finally reuniting with Tyler himself.
